TCF

TCF is the French Test used by the Ministry of Education:

TCF is a French speaking-level test, for every non-French-speaking people who wish, for personal, professional or study purposes, to rate and validate their knowledge in French in a simple, reliable and fast way.

TCF is a standardized and calibrated test conceived by the CIEP, a certifying body member of ALTE, following an extremely rigorous methodology which makes it a true measurement device.

Each candidate receives a result certificate which will position him on one of the six levels (from A1 to C2) of the proficiency scale defined by the European Council (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). You can't fail at TCF.

TCF for students:

• 1st university cycle students (L1-L2) and architecture schools: the TCF is obligatory for the future students in regard to preliminary admission application (DAP) in 1st cycle at a French university or school of architecture.
  
• 2 nd, 3 rd cycle students (L1-L2),  and “grandes écoles” (Higher education institutions) : the TCF is systematically asked to the students who wish to deposit an application form for 2 nd and 3 rd cycle ( License 3, Master 1, Master 2 and doctorate)  in a  higher education institution.
